PRIMIS+ Health Information: Confidentiality, Security and Access - Workshop
This workshop session will be held at NHS Calderdale, Dean Clough, Halifax
HX3 5AX.
The Health Information: Confidentiality, Security and Access unit comprises of three parts:
1) attendance at a workshop
2) followed by online learning on the Information governance framework and how it relates to the NHS
3) completion of a case study
This learning is designed to enable you to use and share health information in a confidential and secure manner within the context of current legal requirements and NHS best practice guidance. After participating in this unit you should be able to understand and place in the context of your role:
• the different types of health information across the NHS
• aspects of the law that enable the appropriate sharing and access of health information
• a description of what the NHS Information Governance framework is and its various components
• the processes for using, sharing and accessing health information in accordance with your local arrangements
